Slim Pen 2 Lag... BUT, zero lag with finger

I just purchased a Surface Pro 9. There is a TON of lag while using the Slim Pen 2, but no lag if i just use my finger. The pen functions with Photoshop perfectly... It only lags in Fresco. I have smoothing turned off, and have tried different brushes. I have also re-installed Fresco twice. Am i missing something?

I've been experiencing this issue for the past few days. I just rolled back to the last version and no issues so far. Pen works fine now.

I believe this issue is not hardware-related because I experience the same problem with my Asus Pen 2 on my Vivobook Slate. The pen works smoothly in other applications, but in Fresco specifically, there is a noticeable delay between the pen input and the strokes being displayed, even though the stroke input itself is not missed.

Rolling back to a previous version of Fresco worked! (as user @straubz  suggested)

 

I've been using Adobe products for over 20 years... However, this is my first time using their products on a tablet, and my first time using Fresco.

 

Shame on you Adobe Support. It would have been nice if you offered this solution FIRST instead of blaming my hardware and/or user error... Especially since you are likely aware that this issue exists. Gaslighting dedicated users is silly and unproductive... I'm dissapointed.

Glad it worked! Buckle up with fresco. It honestly is not a good app. I've been using it on surface devices since it came out. Freezing, lagging or losing touch sensitivity on my surface pro 9. But it still has everything i want so I prevail. 😒

If you open Creative Cloud and navigate to your installed apps, click the 3 dots beside Fresco... select "other versions" to view/download the available previous version.

I cannot install previous versions. There is no such thing as "other versions" when click on three dots.

 

Not sure if its because i'm using free version. Stuck at version 5.5 and there is no link on adobe site for previous versions. Shame on Adobe.

Same exact issue, rolling back to a previous version of Fresco worked for me too. Amazed Adobe hasn't fixed this issue yet as it breaks one of the main features of the program.

Reporting from late 2024, and Fresco still has this problem. I tried rolling back to a previous version, but there was only one other one. And that version has the exact same problem. It's ridiculous thatAdobe still hasn't fixed this yet.

December 2024, still the same. The latest version totday i 5.5.5, the only available previous version is 5.5.0 and both have the same problem. With a lag like this the app is basically unusable.

January of 2025 and this problem persistS. I would discourage anyone from expecting Fresco to operate reliably. It's great that it works for some,but it is unusably broken for others.

If some poor dev is trying to debug based on comments ITT, ill share that for me, its only broken on one of the user accounts on my Surface - on the other account, it works as expected. Rollback to 5.5.0 did not help

Yep. I haven't updated Fresco on my surface since this thread was spun up 8 months ago and I'm always afraid one day it'll force update and I'll be stuck with a useless program. I'm actively looking outside Adobe products for my drawing programs that actually work well with touch devices because they don't care 🥳🥳
