Question

Zoom in and out incredibly slow, no alt button for colour picking?

Hi all,

Just tried using Fresco for the first time and I really like the natural media brushes and how they work. However, there seems to be no way to zoom in and out properly - the increments seem tiny; whether using pinch and zoom on my tablet or the ctrl + shortcut, it takes me so long to actually zoom in or out.

It's not a huge document, 3840 x 2160px @ 72ppi, the default size (same size as monitor). When I reduced the size to 1280 x 720, it had the same problem. I've attached a video showing this.

Secondly; why are many of the shortcuts not the same as in Photoshop? I can't alt-click to colour pick, or hold alt while transforming a shape to get it to scale at centre. I really want to like this app, but it's genuinely unusable at the moment because I can't zoom in or out nor can I colour pick. There's no "preferences" modal that I can see where I can assign or change shortcuts like in Photoshop; it seems just like a scaled up port of the iPad Fresco app.

Are you running the release that came out on July 19 or 20, 2021? If yes, are you having the same experience?

Ditto the earlier question, what hardware & OS (operating system) & ideally processor (AMD, Nvidia, etc.) are you running?

Which device are you using?

Fresco was created as an iPad app, the main focus of this means everything was touch based. That's the first reason why it isn't the same as Photoshop.
Pinch and zoom seems to work fine on my iPad.

Use the letter i to activate colour picker, same as in Ps.
At a guess they're adding things to the desktop version in the easiest way possible. Over time as more people ask for more features Fresco will probably be indistinguishable from Photoshop, and people will ask, why do we need the two apps.
