Windows or Mac ?

Are you getting Waiting message as soon as you click on Install button or after the progress percentage crosses 42% ?

I tried both of the options stated in your post but all of them lead to the same problem, I am interested in purchasing but am wary due to the inconsistencies of the download.

Not to worry , this issue is typical and can be fixed.

Few things we need to check.

Check whether Windows Update process or any other setup process is running in background. if yes will have to wait till the Windows update is completed.

Launch Task Manager and check whether Windows Installer / Setup.exe processes is running, if yes End it

Disable Anti-Virus and Firewall Temporarily.

Then try to install After Effects Again .

Still same?? Let me know whether you had installed any other Adobe apps?
