Hey guys,
So I ended my subscription to the CC version of Illustrator, but whenever I try to open the CS6 version I get the adobe application manager telling me I need to renew my subscription in order to use illustrator. I didn't click on CC. I clicked on CS6. Anyone know why it's doing this and how I can use my older version of Illustrator without having to renew my subscription?
Thanks!
Californiacharlie, I am so sorry for the confusion, yes if you purchased the product online only then you'll get the download link in your account.
You will have to get your CS6 DVD to install the product.
I would suggest not going ahead with the uninstallation until you have your DVD to install it again.

Please try to uninstall all about the CC version using this tool:
Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
Then, if needed, reinstall Illustrator CS6 (if supported by your OS)

You have a perpetual license for CS6?
Before uninstalling please make sure it's listed in your Creative Cloud account and if not, resolve any registration issues with Customer support, because otherwise you won't be able to download CS6 to install it again after deinstalling.

If by perpetual you mean outright ownership, then yes. I bought the CS6 master suite in 2013 before the monthly billing process was designed. Thank you for your advice!

Hey guys,
So I uninstalled CC illustrator and tried to uninstall the CC but was met with the following response.
"Couldn't uninstall Creative Cloud for desktop. You still have Creative Cloud applications installed on your computer that require it."
Any ideas how to address this problem? Thanks again!

Hi Californiacharlie,
To completely uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app please follow the steps given in the following thread: Creative cloud failing for a year now - only options are quit or repair. Both fail.
Since you don't wish to reinstall the app please skip the last step.
Let us know if this helps.

Hi Bani Verma,
I successfully uninstalled the Creative Cloud desktop app, but when I try to open the Adobe Illustrator CS6 application it continues to redirect me towards the CC PDApp telling me I need to renew my subscription. Any idea how to proceed? Thank you for your time.
Best,
Andrew

Hi Andrew, thanks for sharing the update.
Do you have your CS6 DVD or download with you? if you have registered the product you can find the download link and the serial number in your account: Find downloaded apps and files.
Once you have your download and serial number for CS6 ready then go ahead and uninstall the app and then do a fresh installation of CS6.
Let us know if this helps.

Hi Bani,
Should I uninstall all of the applications associated with CS6 or only CS6 illustrator? Thanks!

Hi Andrew,
Firstly can you confirm that you have your CS6 DVD or download with you? if you have registered the product you can find the download link and the serial number in your account: Find downloaded apps and files.
If yes, then completely uninstalling the CS6 suite would the be best option to resolve this problem. Once done install it again using your DVD or download from your account to install it again.

Hi Bani,
I don't currently have my CS6 DVD as it is back home and I am abroad at the moment. I am concerned if I uninstall the CS6 suite that I won't be able to reinstall it since I don't have the DVD. Is it possible to safely reinstall the CS6 suite without the DVD? Thanks!

Hi Californiacharlie,
I have reviewed the Adobe ID (email address0 you have utilized to post here and found that your Adobe CS6 master collection is registered on it. You should be able to download the setup from your account, to know how please see: Find downloaded apps and files.
I would suggest that you first download the fresh setup of Adobe CS6 from your account and Find your serial number and then proceed with uninstallation and reinstallation process.
Hope this helps and let us know if you have any more queries.

Hi Bani,
I checked if CS6 was registered on my account and it is indeed registered. How do I download the fresh set up? I checked out the link you provided but it seems only products ordered over the internet can be downloaded from that platform.
Thanks!

Bani, thanks! Just wanted to clarify before I proceeded further. I'll send an update when I do get a hold of my DVD. Until then, take care!

Hi Bani, I'm back home. I tried deleting my adobe illustrator content and re-installing but it continued to ask for a renewed subscription. Then I tried uninstalling illustrator CS6 and re-installing it. That did not work either. Then I re-started the laptop and that was unsuccessful as well in circumnavigating subscription. Do you have any other suggestions in untangling the CC renew subscription barrier so I can use my CS6 illustrator again? Thanks!
