I am trying to reinstall Creative Cloud desktop on my Macbook Pro Mid 2012 running 10.9.5. The disk image mounts and when I double click the installer icon I am asked for my password but then nothing happens. There is no sign of activity on activity monitor and I have left it for an hour so I am sure nothing is happening. No error messages are generated. I have uninstalled all the apps, and run the cleaner app, and repaired disk permissions but still nothing happens. The installer is newly downloaded from Adobe and I have a CC subscription. Is there something wrong with the installer or am I missing something?

Thanks for the response - yes, using the mac password, should I be using the Creative Cloud login password instead?

And, incidentally it appears to be accepting the password, as when I type in something different the window shakes and does not disappear.

no, continue using your mac password.
1. uninstall everything cc that's installed.
2. clean per Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
3. restart your computer
4. reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud

Thanks, I have done that and I experience the sane failure when trying to reinstall CC desktop. The only thing was that I could not locate the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log file but everything appears to be uninstalled. When I run cleaner again there is nothing to clean except Fix Host File, and I have tried to clean that too but to no avail.

make sure your downloaded dmg size matches the expected size and no antivirus or anti-malware program could be stopping your install.
you could create a new admin account and try installing using that account.
1. Create a new Admin account
2. Log out of your computer, and then back in under the new admin account
3. use the Creative Cloud uninstaller app to uninstall CC desktop, Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application
4. After the uninstall completes, install a new copy of CC desktop. https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
5. Log out and log back in under your usual account.
6. If CC desktop doesn't start on its own, double click the application itself to start up.
