CS3 Web Standard Activation No Connection Problem

Whenever I try to activate my CS3, whether I try to activate it over the Internet or by adjusting my internet connection settings, I get NO CONNECTION. I'm not sure I use a proxy server, but the settings I enter don't work anyway. Phone activation no longer is used--just get a recording saying that. My serial number is valid.  After today I only have 7 days of use of the software. I tried uninstalling the deactivated software, and reinstalling it, but no improvement. although it keeps counting down the days. Adobe Support no longer will provide help for CS3. Any guidance would be appreciated. Reply here or at garylcox@charter.net
