data1.cab file is present but empty after download for Acrobat Pro XI

I am trying to upgrade to Acrobat Pro XI and have downloaded the files. The extraction process took quote a few attempts before it worked on my PC and I'm now doing the install. It get to a point where 'Error 1311 Source file not found' appears and asks me to check on the data1.cab file and retry. The file is present but is empty (0kb) so when I hit 'retry' the same message just appears again.I am downloading from Adobe direct, not from a disc and am downloading onto a PC.

what file(s) did you download and what are their file sizes (shown on your computer)?

Files downloaded was everything that came from the Adobe download manager for AcrobatPro 11, so I wouldn't know if anything was missing or not. But the point is, the files that are there all have a file size but the data1.cab file size is 0kb. Is this normal or is there a fault in the download? I've repeated the process a number of times and get the same results. I continue with the extraction process and it's at this point that the error message appears.

there's only one self-extracting file you need to download.  make sure your dl is complete.

Downloadable installation files available:

Download and installation help for Adobe links

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

Hi kglad,

yep, downloads (each time I've done them) are complete. I've downloaded from the link you provided in your last reply. The file size is 200,000kb bigger than my original but still, once extracted, I get the same error message about data1.cab. That file is also still at 0kb in the folder.

there's something wrong with your extraction.  see if you can find someone with computer expertise that can sit at your compouter and help you.

While I appreciate everyone's help I'd rather speak to someone directly at Adobe but that seems impossible! Any ideas how I can contact an Adobe staff member?

Anyway, I'm clicking on the exe file, it opens an extraction wizard, I start the extraction and mostly it gets to 100 percent and tells me that a problem occurred in the extracting the archive and to try again. So after a number of attempts, it works. I then go through the installation process and at this point I get the message about data1.cab not being valid.

Hi again, I'm currently speaking with someone at Adobe... they seem stumped but hopefully will sort it all out.

Thanks, I've seen this forum topic and tried the various solutions but none work.
