Error 213:8

New Here ,

Hello,

My Photoshop CS5.1 on windows 10 abruptly stopped working and gives me an error 213:8.  I found this thread:

Error: "Licensing has stopped working" | Windows

Step 1 didn't fix matters, and steps 2 on don't appear to be relevant for windows 10 because there's no flex licensing service running.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Lmalia, the steps listed in Error: "Licensing has stopped working" | Windows will still be applicable for Windows 10 as long are you continue to use the affected Creative Suite software titles.  If the Flexnet licensing service is not applicable to the Creative Suite 5 installation then please proceed to the next step.  This error is well known and resolvable even if you have to implement solution 8 and completely reinstall Photoshop CS5.

If you have any additional questions about the steps liste

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... this says Encore, but is sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account) so follow the instructions for your specific program

Also... every time Microsoft issues a Win10 update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working after the initial Win10 upgrade will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system
