Are you installing from disc?  Are you able to copy the files successfully?  Which version of Windows are you using?

If you did not receive a disc error when copying the files from the disc then I would recommend installing from the files which were copied.  It is possible your optical drive maybe running into issues when trying to read the data1.cab file during installation.

You can try solution 6 and 7 in Error 1311, 1335, or 2350 "Source file not found...data1.cab" when installing Adobe products | Windo....  Those solutions are aimed at the Windows Installer Service as being a possible cause.  I do think it is more likely that the data1.cab file is corrupted but they are still worthwhile steps to try.
