I've successfully downloaded the After Effects CC trial, but when I open it it says that it can't access the preference files inside my Library (and therefor doesn't open).

I'm using Yosemite OS X Version 10.10.3, and I've attached an image of the error message. What to do?Screen Shot 2015-06-21 at 15.35.26.png

This is the worst answer I've ever seen.  The problem is you can't open after effects.  So you give a link for changing after effects preference which is contingent on the premise of opening after effects to change the preferences.  Did someone even think about this before posting it?  I've been trying to get this problem taken care of and have been hung up on or had my call canceled in the middle up to five times now.  Will I ever get an answer?  At this point, I don't think I'll get after effects working and I don't think Adobe cares.

this is not entirely true. you reset Ae's preferences before actually launching it completely. the window pops up before Ae actually launch so this may fix the problem.
