I am trying to download a free trial of Indesign, and it is stuck on "waiting." It has been saying "waiting" for an hour now. I tried uninstalling everything, using the adobe cleaner, restarting, etc. Nothing has worked. Please help - I need this program now.
I guess you download from below link :
Adobe CC 2015 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2015 Release | ProDesignTools
That is temporary fix, but it is very important to fix the issue with CC app. it not only just installs the application , it also detects necessary updates from time to time automatically , whenever there is change in OS like Windows or Mac OS , respective patches updates are released .
but you can also download those patches from same direct link , but you will need to check web

you tried to restart your computer and failed to do that, or you successfully restarted your computer, then opened your cc desktop app and it is showing 'waiting'?

I successfully restarted my computer, then opened the cc desktop app and tried to install InDesign again. It says "waiting" again, and has said "waiting" for a very long time.

I can't test the host file. When I open the creative cloud cleaner, it's just a box for command prompts. It looks nothing like the picture in the help.
I tested all the other connectivity issues and they are fine.

So I figured out how to download the trial just by googling a solution that let me bypass the installer and just use the direct download link. I'm surprised no one mentioned this. I wasted a day trying to download it using the installer. This forum sucks. 😕

Will do one thing , if you havent installed any other Adobe apps , navigate to C:> Program files(x86) >Common Files > Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and rename Caps folder to Caps-old.
Also make sure Windows Installer and Windows Module Installer services are started and their Startup type is set to Manual.
Open Task Manager and if running end processes like Windows Installer , MsiExec, setup.exe..
Then try to install again and check.

Still same ??? Let us know .

I renamed the Caps folder Caps-old, and I checked the task manager and none of those processes are running. Where do I find the Windows Installer and the Windows Module Installer?
