setup interrupted

I purchased a sealed version of Acrobat Pro.and am attempting to install it on a Win7 32-bit laptop.  I have disabled all antivirus, firewalls, etc. 

The install appears to proceed normally.  After several minutes, I get the message:

Setup Interrupted.  The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Acrobat X Pro could be completely installed.

A Google search didn't produce any good answers.  Apparently, this community support forum is all the support I am entitled to from Adobe.  Help?

uninstall any acrobat and reader versions.  then clean (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs), then try installing.

if that fails with no helpful error message, Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC
