I work for a studio with a bunch of editors and, per company policy, we can't update any adobe software without the IT guys doing it for us (don't get me started). The editors would like to start updating more often and IT asked for an update release schedule if at all possible. So, I'm wondering if there is a rough idea of when Adobe releases updates. Are there big quarterly updates and the smaller ones roll out randomly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adobe doesn't publish that information, and most of us that help answer questions are volunteers not employees. However, based on past years you can pretty much guarantee that major updates will be made to most applications during the Adobe MAX creativity conference. This year the conference is on October 15-17.

I think we'd all love one of those.
Took Microsoft years to be pressured into weekly Patch Tuesdays which are essential for operating system security.
If you plan to update Adobe software at least quarterly, would that satisfy IT? It's all about risk management for them. For us end users, it's all about the extra speed, features and improved workflow.
