Updated Lightroom to 5.7.1 and now my license isnt valid

Hi,

I've had Lightroom for years on my macbook pro and today I noticed that I hadnt updated to the latest version (5.7.1). After updating I noticed that its now CC and my license key doesnt work anymore. I am on High Sierra. I have searched the forums and there are some posts where users of High Sierra have the same problem.

How can I revert back to the previous version (non creative cloud) or get my key to work again.

Thanks for the information, Sven.  Odd usually German language shows as DE and not D. 

If you used the installation files referenced in message #6 of Lightroom 5.71 OSX invalid serial number  then please be aware the included security certificate is no longer valid.  New installation files for Lightroom 5.7.1 are available at Download Photoshop Lightroom which includes the updated security certificates.

Hi Johane,

We're really sorry for all the trouble. You need to sign out from Lightroom CC and enter your serial number to convert it into a standalone product. Please refer the following article for step by step instructions:  How to convert a Lightroom CC trial version to licensed Lightroom 6 copy

Hello,

same issue here as it seems. I got a LR5.0 license since upgrade to 5.7.1 the LR telling me invalid license number I should contact support. I've used the step by step instruction above already.

I tried to contact your support via chat, no joy - even if I stayed for 1h in the session.

I tried another chat session, same thing.

How can this issue be fixed?

Sven, are you downloading and installing Lightroom 5.7.1 from Download Photoshop Lightroom ?  If you were previously installing Lightroom 5, and then upgrading to Lightroom 5.7.1, then please use the Lightroom 5.7.1 installation files available at Download Photoshop Lightroom .

If you are already installing using the Lightroom 5.7.1 installation files, then what operating system are you installing on?  Why are you installing Lightroom 5.7.1?  Is this a new computer or did you previously face an error?

Hello,

I have a Macbook with MacOS High Sierra. I installed LR5 from the install DVD and then used the build in functionality to search for updates and installed it. After that the license seems no longer be valid. Isn't that a valid approach to update the LR5?

No, Sven.  You will need to use the updated Lightroom 5.7.1 installation files previously referenced in this discussion.

So,

- uninstalled LR.

- Downloaded the file from your link - Filename: Lightroom_5_CCM_LS11 21-54-36-502.dmg ​.

- Installed the file.

- Logged in with my account.

- Entered S/N which I have on the retail box.

Still same issue. S/N invalid. Can you check if the serial number is "blocked"? I guess you can see it in my profile right?

Thanks for the update, Sven.  You are making progress.  Please do not use the installation files provided on your DVD in the future.  The security certificate has been updated in the files you just downloaded.

For your next steps, you will want to complete the steps listed in Error: "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Adobe Creative Suite starting with Solution 2.  This should restore the ability of the Lightroom, and other Adobe applications, to accept serial numbers.

Sven, I reviewed your account and you successfully registered your copy of Lightroom 5 on http://www.adobe.com/.  I do see an odd language listed for the software title but the All Language installer at Download Photoshop Lightroom should work.

The language you licensed Lightroom 5 is only listed as D.  Which language did you purchase Photoshop Lightroom 5 in?  You can view your registered software titles at Find your serial number .

I've used the download from FTP server now from this forum post and I was able to enter my license number successfully. Something seems to be wrong with the other version you suggested to download.

Thanks for the update, Sven.  Which forum post are you referring too?  I did notice you just registered Lightroom 5 this month.  Did you just purchase Lightroom 5?  Do you know what language you purchased Lightroom 5 in?

I purchased it a few years back via Amazon in German Language. I never registered it before, thats correct.

I would strongly recommend you remove the version you installed.  If you feel that you have implemented the steps listed in Error: "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Adobe Creative Suite then please contact chat support at Contact Customer Care so that the Lightroom serial number can be reviewed and a new one issued if necessary.
