How do I disable UpdaterStartupUtility for good? It crashes my mac everyday. My computer freezes, screen goes black, and the power shuts off, hard crash. Very annoying. I will quit Adobe and switch to other products if this isn't fixed ASAP.
Crash log: UpdaterStartupUtility Crash - Pastebin.com
I was able to solve this problem by deleting the updater startup utility app from my application folder. I'm fine without updating my adobe apps for a while. Alternatively, you can add "backup" to the adobe updater startup utility app and creative cloud apps so they don't open anymore, then delete "backup" from the app names when you want to use them again.

There has to be a general solution without sitting on hold or allowing someone remote access. I have CC on two Macs and get crash reports multiple times a day.
And deleting a part of the application install isn't much of a fix. How about a REAL fix from Adobe? Surely they can run a debugger and figure out what the problem is?

This is not technical support, it's a user-to-user forum with some infrequent staff participation. I don't have the problem so I can't speak to what might be the root cause. I only know it is not widespread because if it were, this forum would be filled with similar complaints. I think your best course of action is to reach out to technical support and see what they say.

Yes I'm well aware of how the forums here work. But there is either a solution or there isn't. If there is, then why would it be a secret? If there isn't then its a waste of time to contact support.
And I've seen quite a few complaints about the problem but nobody has answers. Something is fishy...

The official word is Adobe won't publish a solution.

No. The official word was in Reply #5 of that other discussion.
Uninstall all Adobe products, run the CC Cleaner Tools and re-install Creative Cloud..
If that fails to solve the problem, Contact Customer Care
