What do I do with old student version of software?

A couple years back I got the student version of Adobe Design Standard CS4. I have since upgraded to CS6 and no longer have any use for my Design Standard software. The discs are just sitting there in the box.

My question is, what do I do with it? I've been told I can't sell it because it's a student version. But what do I with it? I'd hate to just throw it out, but it doesn't serve any purpose for me to hold onto it. Is there a buyback or recycle program?

Cenamaria2787 I would recommend you verify your software license for CS4 is available under your account.  You can find information on how to locate your serial nimber under your account at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.

For the discs themselves I am not aware of any specific recycling programs for DVDs or CDs.  You are also correct that since it is the educational version you can not sell the software.

Hi Jeff,

This doesn't really answer my question. I don't see how verifying my license, which I have already done, tells me what to do with a product I no longer need.

I don't have any use for my student version, and I have no need to keep it. I'm asking what can I do? I can't sell it, so can I donate it? Do I just throw it away? What do I do with software that is completely useless to me?

As long as the license is registered it is your choice on how to dispose or remove the software from your presence.

Requests for copies of old software are often made in these forums.  You may want to consider putting the software CDs in a special box for old software in case you ever do have a need for it again.
