Hello everyone, we have a big puzzle of selling used Adobe software on eBay.
As my company is transferring to Adobe CC, there are many Adobe software (new and used) left with no use. So we had a discussion and decided to sell the software on eBay to raise money for company activities. One of my colleagues volunteered to use his good-rating eBay account to sell those. After some success, boow, eBay blocked his account and provided an email address for contacting Adobe (adobe@enforcements.markmonitor.com).
After spending tens of years in this business with Adobe software, we know that volume license can't be shared. So we only tried to sell retail version and upgrade version which were purchased from retailing stores, plus license transfer in the cases that we can locate the owner. Initially, we made a mistake listing two item with student licensing (obtained by interns). After both being removed by eBay, we learned the lesson and only tried to sell retail/upgrade versions.
My questions are: is it okay to sell used Adobe software on eBay? and what is this email adobe@enforcements.markmonitor.com. eBay says it should be used to contact Adobe but my colleague, who is desperately trying to get his eBay account back, didn't hear anything after sending an email to the address.
I would appreciate any official answer from Adobe, so that it might be helpful to get my colleague's eBay account reinstated. We all feel bad letting him go through this with his good intention to help group building.

you can for cs6 programs, but it's not easy to do. and for older, you can't.
to sell cs6, you would finalize a transaction, gather their info and then apply for a license transfer: Transfer an Adobe product license
because that transfer is likely to take some time, your buyer is likely to be unhappy.
i'm not an adobe employee so the legal ins and outs are explained at the link in this message. that is official adobe policy on reselling software.

Kglad,
Can you explain why CS6 can be sold but not for older ones? I would appreciate the source web link of your statement. We thought the ownership belonged to the buyer for retail (standalone) and upgrade versions, regardless CS6 or CS2, which can be transferred through Adobe.

Ellieprince92, please see the link Kglad provided in message #1. You can find complete details regarding the process, and restrictions, that must be completed to transfer a Adobe license to another individual or organization.

So basically, there is no official restriction on selling used Adobe (standalone versions). What is that adobe@enforcements.markmonitor.com? It doesn't look like from Adobe, but they contacted eBay to get my friend's account suspended.

You are welcome to have your friend contact abuse@adobe.com and they can discuss the particulars of the sale they were attempting to advertise on eBay.

Thank you, Jeff, for the information. The ones we put on eBay were all purchase from Adobe (no invalid/revoked/volume). Some are even brand new. Currently, our priority is to get our friend's eBay account reinstated on eBay. We will surely contact abuse@adobe.com to get more information. Do you have any other information to help my friend? Thanks.

My only other recommendation would be to find a local buyer, instead of an Internet marketplace, Ellieprince92. This way you can work with them as you go through the transfer of license process. The process takes three to four weeks to complete.
