28.3 bugs

Illustrator is continuously getting updated, but bugs are not getting resolved.

There's a zooming bug now since the last few versions where images are not updated when zoomed in. So if you do a scrubby zoom on an image, it looks completely blurry until you Control/Spacebar/Click to zoom again.  Even if you just pan it, it stays blurry.

The bug where the checkbox for previewing color swatches is also not resolved.

Correct answer Kuttyjoe

Updating the driver introduced a new problem.  Zooming in/out is jerky and not smooth at all.

I solved the jerky zooming problem.  I was trying to resolve a different performance problem.  I got some advice to set Graphics performance for Illustrator to High Performance. At the same time, I threw out my preferences and rebuilt them from scratch and the zooming became nice and smooth again. Also, I might have solved the other problem I mentioned elsewhere.  Windows Explorer has performance problems while Illustrator is running.  I'll have to work with Illustrator for the rest of the day to feel confident that the problem is resolved but so far, everything is looking good.

WHich system?

Sounds like it could be Windows. Did you check for updates for your graphic card driver?

If I go back to an earlier version of Illustrator the problems go away.  It's not Windows.

So you are on Mac OS?

Which one? Sonoma? There are still inexplicable issues with it. If it is Sonoma, try and update to the latest version.

...And it's freezing and crashing. That has almost never happened. And as soon as I install this latest update, it freezes and crashes.
