3D Effect on Illustrator keeps crashing

Everytime I use the 3D revolve effect on a shape the programme freezes and crashes.

Any suggestions? I've reported it but nothing has changed.

It came up with this message, now it wont let me go onto any documents, it just comes up with this message.

To get it working again, can you try and reboot the computer?

Then please show us the shape.

the shape is a semi circle (shown above in black).

when i click effect > 3D > revolve it comes up with this error message?

That should not be an issue.

Can you try and create a new file and then draw that again?

I've just tried to create a new file and do the same with the 3D effect and it has just crashed again? Should I try to uninstall illustrator then install it again?

Do you get any error warning when launching Illustrator?

If not, I don't think it's an install issue.

But you might try if resetting the preferences helps.

Rename the folder, so you can revert if it doesn't: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html
