3D effect shadows cutting off

New Here ,
Jan 22, 2022 Jan 22, 2022

I've been messing around with the new 3D tools and even though i'm loving it, somehow the shadows keep getting cut just like in the picture below. I already tried changing the "add xx around object" value in Document Raster Effect Settings but id does nothing...

There is a setting in the shadow options called "shadow border" or the like (I have a German version). Can you try it?

Hi there - probably a very late reply to this, but I was having the same trouble recently and found if I played around with 'Depth' (under Object –> Inflate) that worked for me!

This issue has been driving me crazy and this is the only thread I've found about it, but I can't find the option "shadow border" in shadow options... Has it been removed from Illustrator 2023, or am I mossing something? Please find screenshot attached. Many tanks in advance!

Hi, I don't know if you're still having this issue or not, but you need to INCREASE the "shadow bounding" number to not see the borders. Decreasing the number "cuts off" the shadow more.
Hope that made sense!

In that case you have just reached the limit of what's possible

What happens if you reduce the size of the text? 250 pt text is quite large.

Hi @elianemarchand ,

So I tried to match your setting best as possible and unfortunately the only solution I could find was to increase the height %. Below are 2 screenshots, first with your original settings and the second with height increased. Sorry after much tinkering this is the only thing i could come up with (changing the text size doesn't do anything btw). If someone can find a different solution, that'll be great!

PS sorry if my reply is too late 😛
