Hello.

I recently did a clean install of windows everything has been fine except in illutsrator if the screen turns off after a period of inactivity when woken back up I cannot move any objects on the open illustrator document. The only fix is to quit and restart.

This seems quite repeatable on my windows 11 machine,

Anyone else seen this?

Hi @garethirwin1234,

Thanks so much for sharing this, and I completely understand how frustrating it must be. Could you please confirm the exact version of Illustrator you're using (you can check this under Help > About Illustrator)? Also, let me know if this happens with all files or just specific ones. Please confirm if this is limited to Illustrator or happening with Adobe Creative Cloud apps as well.

Please try checking for graphics driver updates directly from the manufacturer's website, and if possible, perform a clean reinstallation of your GPU drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD). You can also set the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator — here’s how: https://adobe.ly/402Vgi6.

In the meantime, I recommend resetting Illustrator preferences (reference: https://adobe.ly/464aW8G). Just make sure to back up your preferences before doing so.

Lastly, please confirm whether this issue occurs only when using an external monitor or on your main screen as well.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
