Hello everyone, I want to add an .icc color profile to the list of available color profiles. I have installed the .icc file in Windows C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color, restarted Illustrator but my .icc does not appear in the list. can anyone help me?

I had the very same problem. AI just didn't show any additional profile I had installed in Windows 10 (c:\Windows\system32\spool\driverws\color).

Today, after reading this thread, I can't say whay, but I changed the extended convert option "Modul"  from "Adobe (ACE)" to "Microsoft ICM"

After that, all the profiles were shown in the profiles list.

Out of curiosity, I changed back to "Adobe (ACE)", and surprise, surprise, the additional profile still are shown in the list. Even after restarting Windows and AI, the profiles are shown.

Hi @mm90280672,

Thanks for pointing it out. Could you please confirm which version of Illustrator you're using, along with the details of your Windows operating system?

Also, once the ICC profile is installed, please try this quick check inside Illustrator: go to the View menu, select Proof Setup, and see if your installed profile appears in the list there.

This will help us confirm whether Illustrator is detecting the profile in certain areas, even if it's not visible under Assign Profile.

In parallel, I've also reached out to the team to check if this behavior is expected, and I'll share an update as soon as I hear back.

Let me know what you observe, and I’ll be happy to assist further.

Looking forward to your update.

Hi @mm90280672,

Thanks a lot for confirming those details! I checked with the product team, and they mentioned that the Edit > Assign Profile option will only display ICC profiles that match the document's color mode, either RGB or CMYK. To help us investigate this further, could you please share the following:

1. The document you’re working with (you can share it here or send it via DM if it’s confidential)

2. The specific ICC profile you're trying to load

3. A screenshot of your current Edit > Color Settings dialog in Illustrator

Feel free to use a cloud sharing service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer.

Looking forward to your update!
Abhishek
