How do I add an Illustrator design I created to the portfolio? Or do I just have to manually take a screenshot?

Correct answer Ton Frederiks

Export a PNG from illustrator and use that in Portfolio.

Generally speaking, you want to format your files for where they will be appearing. So you go to Files>Export As> and then you have several formats you can save as - jpg, png, svg, etc. Pick the best format from there, do not use a screenshot! On the web, pngs and jpgs are the most common formats, although you will see more and more svgs. Here is a good article:

Hope that helps

helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/how-to/create-portfolio-website.html says:

3. Upload media

Use the floating menu to add content to your project. Click Upload Files and choose media directly from your computer.

You can also embed media from other sources, such as YouTube, directly into your project. Or select items from your Lightroom collections on the web.

Maybe I'm not up to speed on new features. What is the portfolio?

There is a feature in the Creative Cloud call Portfolio and it essentially is just a personalized website where you can post stuff
