Adding text to a 3D sphere

Community Beginner ,

I'm playing with the new 3D features in Illustrator and I'm trying to add some text onto a 3D object so that the text can move around on top of the sphere but, not to be bowed out like the attached image. Does anyone have an idea how to keep the text on the surface of the 3D sphere?

Create a Symbol or add it to the Graphics part of the Materials tab.

Looks like you inflated a group.

You could try to create a symbol of the text and add it as a graphic material to a revolved half circle.

Do you have a link to a video I could view that would show me how to make a graphic material? I think that would be a great idea
