Dear All,
Im quite new to AI but found a nice presentation template on Adobe stock.
Now I don't know how to make new slides with AI, since the number of slides from the template doesn't make sense for me. Can somebody help? Thanks in advance!

I guess as 'slide' could equate to an artboard, depending on how the document is set up. But templates from stock are a crapshoot. You should probably show screenshots of what you have.

Thanks for your reply! I tried to add new layers (same as the picture on the right) but that doesn't help either...

If you want to organise new slides the same way the template creator did, you would create a new layer, create a new artboard, name them the same, then use that layer when working on the corresponding artboard.
If you're expecting some kind of template-like consistency between the built-in slides and new ones you create, Illustrator isn't really set up for that (having no 'master' page equivalent).

Thank you very much! I was able to make new artboards. However, only at the end of the "presentation", not between two existing artboards. Is there a way to change the order of the artboards in the layer menu?
If yes, then I think I can work with it pretty well.

Laura

The layer panel has nothing to do with artboards, but yes, you can change the order.
Open the artboards panel (Window > Artboards).
Drag the artboard names into the order you want.
Click on the 'Rearrange all artboards' button, then click OK.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for reaching out. Could you please share the File ID of that presentation template?

People are designing layouts and illustrations in PowerPoint all the time. It's only fair that someone now designs their presentations in Illustrator 😄
