Adjust how paint bucket fills sections with gaps?

Is there a way to adjust the paint bucket so it will fill a section that has a gap, or doesn't completely close? I don't need it to close really big gaps, but just bigger than what it's doing right now. Thanks.

Double-click on the Shape Builder Tool to increase the width of the gap detection

For live paint go to Object > Live paint > Gap options.

Thanks for the tip Monika,
I always thought the gap options were the same across all tools document-wide. But that is not the case.
