Adjusting a letter in royal signage font.

Hi there.
Is it possible to edit a single letter in AI.
|The font is Royal signage typeface and I want to edit the capital S. Just a tiny bit maybe take off the serif. 
What about the option of using a similar Font that is not so decorative?
It is to be printed if that makes a difference.


Brand new to AI. Love it!

You want to have that changed all over the text in all instances of the letter?

Would you be using the font on several documents?

 

In that case: contact the foundry and ask them if they would do it. They will not do it for free of course, but maybe it's cheaper than you expect.

can I get your opinion on what you would do to make the "S" less cluttered?

You mean this?

 

And there is no other capital S in the font? And you are using it for long text?

 

Can you perhaps give us an idea of your usage of that typeface?

There is this for CC, where you can turn the outlined letter into its own font, then switch between the two fonts when writing.

This is a great program--I have both the AI and PS plugin. Just want to mention that one should check any legal issues before converting another company's font.

You can convert it to outlines and edit the path. Editing the actual font in AI is not possible.
