Adobe Illustrator conflict with terminal? MAC Big Sur 11.5.1

I am having problems with my keyboard in Adobe Illustrator. The Keyboard works perfectly fine outside of Illustrator and I have tried other keyboards with the same results.

In illustrator I am able to do many basic commands but when I enter a text box to type or edit text there are issues. When typing, the result is a string of text that was most recently inputted. When trying to delete within the text box or move left/right within the the sequence, Illustrator will crash.

Right before these problems started I did notice some terminal popup that I closed. I believe this may be some conflict with a password key app?

There seems to be a setting "Secure Keyboard Entry" for the Terminal. Can you try if that has anything to do with your issues?

After enabling/disabling this in terminal I am still having the same issues.

After reinstalling illustrator I was able to gain some keyboard functionality back although now everytime I begin a spell check on my documents in Illustrator I am gauranteed to crash the app. I am running the most up to date version of Illustrator CC.

Hi,

which version of Adobe Illustrator are you using? Does this problem occur on all files or only on a specific file? Have you tried slicing a preference reset?

No luck with resetting preferences using the shortcut keys. Illustrator will now crash everytime I use the spell check function. I am running the current version of Illustrator CC.
