Ok, well, I've uninstalled AI, with the uninstaller in the AI CS6 folder, then reinstalled from my CS .dmg, applied the 16.0.1 update I hade too, then ran the update from the application and it worked. I had problem installing AI though because of SugarSync and its process ShellExtLoad that kept the installer from running. You have to quit Sugarsync and the installer can run normally. I don't know if it was the same problem with the update initially though.

HTH

Jeff

Hello Elephant,

I installed the update manually on Win8.

Adobe App Manager updated when I first went to use it this morning. AAM now cannot connect to the Internet. Which, as I write this from off on the Internet and it is still giving that message, is not correct.

There is at least one person having the same issue I found a thread on and posted there about AAM.

Take care, Mike

One very common source of update errors is using an outdated version of Adobe Application Manager.

Sometimes (many times?) it doesn't get updated automatically.

Download updated version at:

I had the same error trying to update, same error when installing the update manually, and have the latest Adobe Application Manager installed. Illustrator wouldn't launch at all and couldn't update.

I did uninstall Illustrator only, and reinstalled Illutrator only from my disc and it works again now (but it's version 16.0.0). I'll watch this thread and wait paitently until I can update properly.

I can confirm that worked for me as well, uninstalling, re-installing Illustrator CS6 16.0.0, then manually updating using the 16.0.3 updater here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5524

I had success by uninstalling Application Manager and uninstalling Illustrator. Then installing the latest Java Runtime for Mac OS X, reinstalling Applicaation Manager, then reinstalling Illustrator from Application Manager. Not sure what the exact culprit was, but I didn't want to have to do one at a time to narrow it down. Rather just do it all then retry. Worked out for me.

Same dilemma and error after trying to update CS6 Ai in OSX 10.7.5. Success getting Ai function back, though, after >uninstalling Ai, >manually updating Application Manager, >reinstalling Ai, and finally >updating Ai via that program's "Help/Updates".
