Adobe Illustrator Effect

Community Beginner ,

Looking to replicate this effect in Illustrator, wondering if there is a method for doing so?

Any help or ideas are much appreciated! Having trouble searching google for it so if there are any existing tutorials would really appreciate any links to them as

If you must do intIllustrator then

  • draw guides
  • add a green rectangle adn g=group with type.
  • use warp tool whiel holding down shioft
  • rotate 10° and repeat 17x.

I pesonally dont like the warp tool as with simplify at 100% still makes random distortions, unless someone else has a suggestion for making this tool perform better.

It's easier to accomplish in Photoshop, and I'm guessing this person did the same.

But if it needs to be in Illustrator, it can always be traced to vector afterwards.

I did an Archimedes spiral, but to make it easier you could just make concentric circles.

Brad @ Roaring Mouse thanks so much for the advice, could you go into a bit more detail on how you made it happen with an archimedes spiral? Even if it is a matter of using manual work instead of an effect I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around how something like this could be developed.

It's a matter of working with blurred images and using the Threshold adjustment layer in Photoshop, with a pattern you create (whether it be lines, circles, etc) on top.

I found this video that pretty much explained exactly how I accomplished this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRlq4ykaJmA&t=244s

As for the spiral, I had an old Postscript cookbook with code to make spirals. It's not perfect (it's made up of many short straight line segments, but it works well for this. In fact, in the file I made here (attached), there are two spirals: The second copy is rotated 180° and then both are lined up at the centre point. You're welcome to use this. Good luck!
