adobe illustrator opens but none of my previous files appear

illustrator opens but nothing appears such as my recently viewed files or any of my history. It's a blank gray screen and only gives me the option to open a new file or exit.

Hi, you have a touch screen on your computer change your workspace from touch to essentials or essentials classic...regards
