Adobe Illustrator suddenly opening images as blank.

Hi all, I'm running Illustrator on a Mac, and it's worked fine up until now.  Now when I open an image (of any file type) it opens it as a blank image, however the actual image shows in the layer preview under Layers.  Any help would be much appreciated!

Could you possibly share a file that behaves this way so that we can have a look at it?

Are you opening a raster image format (jpg, tif, png, psd, for example) and viewing in Artwork view?

I just tried it again and it worked fine.  Not sure what happened!
