Adobe Illustrator v29 - stroke weight increase not reflected in canvas preview

Mac Studio M1 Max, 32 GB RAM, Mac OS Sequoia 15.0.1, Samsung QLED monitor, 1440 x 3440 resolution

New Document, RGB mode

Default appearance shows just a hint of a stroke as if set to .25 points, much thinner than standard 1 pt. appearance. Canvas preview does not update stroke weight appearance when increased, either in palette or in toolbar. Both system and Illustrator restarted, same behavior.

Correct answer williambartdesign

Haha - silly me, my units defaulted to inches from pixels for my first new document. No wonder I wasn't seeing my adjustments – the canvas was set to. 1280 inches, not pixels, and I was zoomed out to 1.6% 😄 – issue solved (overworked operator error)

Can you show something selected with the layers panel and the appearance panel expanded?
