Question

After recent update, every time I duplicate an item I get a swatch conflict popup

Hello!

After a recent Illustrator update I noticed that everytime I duplicate an element on my artboard with Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V, I get a pop-up window telling me there is a swatch conflict (merge or add swatches). I use global colours on the duplicated elements and it doesn't make sense why this pop-up appears. I understand if I bring something from a different document, but duplicating elements in the same document I do a lot and having to click that pop-up every single time is so annoying.

I imagine this is a bug, but maybe there's something that can be done in the meantime, until the update that will hopefully fix this.

Thanks,

Liviu

Did you try a prefs reset?

In the many years I worked with Adobe products I have done many pref resets, and never did that fix my issue. And it's a pain to get back to all your carefully crafted settings after that.

But the good news is I think I found out what the problem was. I was working in CMYK and my global colours were RGB. I still don't think that pop-up should happen even in this case, but bringing my document colour space to RGB to match the global colours got rid of that pop-up.
