After updating Illustrator not showing file recovery dialog box after crash

Hi, I have just updated my Illustrator to the latest version. My previous version automatically recovered the files I was working on with the extension of 'recovered' and on reopening Illustrator automatically opened all the files that were there before the crash - this seems no longer available now which is great shame. Or do I need to click anywhere to enable that function? Thanks!

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about crashing! I know that's really frustrating. To check if these options are enabled, you may navigate to Illustrator Preferences (Ctrl/Cmd+K) > File Handling & Clipboard and make sure you have selected these options:
Also, I would request you to share a few more details like:
- OS and the exact version of Illustrator
- Does a crash happen while performing a specific action (export, save, using the pen tool, etc.)?
- Does a crash happen while working on a specific document? Could you please share a sample document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.
- Share crash logs by following the steps mentioned in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html).
While submitting the crash report, please use the same email address with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly. - When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, or web extensions installed recently.
Also, you may try the steps shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/fix-crash-on-launch-issues.html?trackingid=K42KVT1M&mv=in-pro...) to fix crash issues and let us know how it goes.

@Anshul_Saini awesome thanks! it was just what I was looking for. I had just updated to the latest version and that option wasn't ticked. I run on Windows 10. The crashes happen, when trying to delete large number of color palettes in one go, running Super Magic Eraser script and sometimes other scripts, and sometimes just random stuff. However, ever since using the 2018 version there have always been crashes for similar reasons and it still can't cope with large file size. I'm always surprised about that especially having moved over from Photoshop which was always extremely stable and never crashed, ever.
However, your suggestion has been very helpful, thanks very much for that!
