AI 26.02 multiple issues with eyedropper & crashing !!!!!!

I have been having non-stop issues with AI since the last update (and the previous one!!)

1 - Eyedropper tool

*cannot change the color using eyedropper tool on an object that is grouped (for example  - a sock, cannot eyedrop a new color if the cuff and body are grouped together). The color box shows as a new color but the object doesn't change. 

*cannot eyedrop at all sometimes, just makes the object with no fill.

*cannot eyedrop FROM objects that grouped, masked, or embedded images.

2 - Crashes!!!!!

Constant crashing.

I am running the latest version of Monteray OS on a 2020 iMac Retina.

This is extrememly frusrating and seriously hindering my work flow.

Please fix this!!!!!!!
