Ai CC 2018 PNG Display Issues

I recently installed Ai CC 2018 and discovered I am not able to place any PNG files with an alpha channel. When the file is placed in Ai the image turns the whole art board white, or it shows a bounding box off of the workable area in Ai. That bounding box is not able to be resized, or moved. I have to delete the file in the Layers Panel, that is the only way to remove it.

I read other threads where the user was provided a java script to run and it seems to help some users, but not me. I ran the scrip before and after restarting Ai, before and after resetting my presets, but this has not proven effective. Please provide a step by step on how to run the java scrip, incase I am not doing things correctly. Furthermore, if there is another option please provide that as well.

Thanks to any who are able to help!
