AI crashes when changing color mode

All releases of version 27 (from 0 to 3.1) crashes when I changing color mode from RGB to CMYK and viceversa, the app si shou down instantanley; all this on macOS Big Sur.

How to fix thies seriuous issue?!

Here the steps for reset Preferences:

~/Library/Caches
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
~/Library/Preferences

 

Rename the folders:

Adobe Illustrator 27

com.adobe.illustrator

Adobe Illustrator 27 Settings 

to 

com.adobe.illustrator.old 

Adobe Illustrator 27.old

Adobe Illustrator 27 Settings.old

PREFS  RESET MAC (thorough method) Change 27 to the current version

Quit Illustrator

Finder >> Shift Command G

~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 27 Settings/en_US/Adobe Illustrator Prefs

rename Adobe Illustrator 27 to Adobe Illustrator 27old

    thanks for answer, I haven't Adobe Illustrator Prefs folder.

    In the attached you can see the contents of ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 27 Settings/it_IT/

    How much free HD space do you have on your Mac?

      Hi,

      the BigSur version is 11.7.2 (20G1020) and I've 850GB free on 2TB SSD; ram 64GB.

      Now I've downgraded to 26.5.2 and the problem isn't there.
