.ai files are trying to open in PS

When I double click to open my .ai files they are trying to open in Photoshop, I need to force it open by dragging it to the AI app in my doc to open it properly.

Also, my smart objects in Photoshop that have placed in from Illustrator are not opening in AI, they are opening in PS as a new smart object PS doc.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

    check the new update from the creative cloud app

    If on a Mac, update your Illustrator CC.

      Try going Windows go to Properties, and check Opens with: select Illustrator App.
