Why are .ai files not previewing with quick preview function on Mac? I've had this issue confirmed by several other users.
The quick preview app on Mac is essential tool for scrolling though and identifying image files. For it to no longer work with AI files is disastrous!
Help please!

I am on Sonoma at work and I have this issue but my home laptop has an older OS and does not have this issue.

I'm not sure what you missed about the original post I made, but this was not a problem before.
"Before" means when you downloaded EPS files from Stock?
EPS did preview on MacOS before, but is no longer supported by the system.

Yes, and if you go to the Apple forums (not run by Apple employees), you will get some snide remark about how nobody uses EPS anymore, everyone uses SVG. But SVG doesn't preview either and it DEFINITELY does not save all functions of a file. I have opened SVGs I saved from Ai files and elements shifted wildly and type randomly turned to outlines. But that is a topic for another post. We need Apple to address this.

I guess I got my answer: Apply thinks malware comes in EPSs but honestly, too many vendors insist on EPS. I would prefer to just use and give everyone .ai files but even older .ai from Adobe Stock don't all have a Quick Look preview on Mac. So something that used to be a quick roll over now takes an action in Ai or a third party app. I wish Bridge did it.

I know this is an old thread, but keeping you busy? When OP writes "open in preview" they mean they need to open the file in the Preview app - 100% not efficient for browsing and previewing .ai files.
Indesign even shows a preview when quick viewing by space bar. I still can't see a preview of Illustrator files, if anyone has a solution please, I'd love to know.
