Not sure if this is a bug or if I am just doing something wrong, I usually use PS so pretty new to AI.
But, pretty frequently, when I move around the artboard the cursor disappears and moving the mouse quickly moves around the canvas.
I've tried hitting 'escape', 'enter', left/right clicking, alt+ctrl+delete, minimizing AI and it stays stuck for a good five minutes before releasing. I know it is not my computer lagging, I'm currently using an Alienware Aurora Ryzen 7 and have no issues running 3d modeling software and much larger applications.
It's very frustrating and a time waster. Has anyone had luck with this?

***Update:
This time it has been stuck for a long while. It happens after clicking the side scroll bar. I tried reclicking/double clicking the scroll bar again and it doesn't work. I've tried with 2 different mice, and a tablet- still no luck. While it is doing this, I cannot click any buttons, save, or anything other than scroll up and down.

*The computer is an Alienware Aurora Ryzen 7 (with added memory)Specs -->https://www.bestbuy.com/site/alienware-aurora-r10-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-16gb-memory-amd-radeon-...
* I used a bluetooth basic windows mouse, a wired mouse, and a Huion tablet.
* computer is on windows 11, with recent updates.
*AI is up-to-date
It was a new file, two layers- One with a placed image, already locked in layers. Second one blank.
The file was the standard 8.5 paper size document it recommends on startup, with no adjustments.

16 GB of memory is at the low end for Illustrator. Can you try without the Huion tablet?
The placed image - how large is that? dimensions and resolution.

Hello @IDGAFdhjbfhabsdh,
We understand how frustrating it can be to experience performance issues while working in Illustrator. I hope the suggestions shared by Monika helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly try the suggestions shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/optimize-illustrator-performance.html) and perform a clean reinstallation of the GPU drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD) and set the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator (https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-110) to check if it helps?
Also, try reinstalling the Huion Tablet drivers and enabling/disabling Windows Ink in the tablet settings, and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Anubhav

Thank you everyone for taking the time to help! I will definitely be looking at the Huion side of things, I think you may be on to something. I always have issues with the drivers- finally got them to work, but maybe glitchy? I do now notice the issue only happens, even with a mouse, if my tablet is also connected. Saldy it is the only one I have right now, as I lost everything in a house fire last year.
I don't think it is a memory issue in this case, I added 16GB memory to the orginal computer making it 32GB, which isn't a crazy lot, but this is a vector art program. The Adobe site says a minimum of 8GB is required. I run 3D animation software and UnrealEngine with no problems, a vector art program should not be wrecking it that bad. Also, I've had AI on my old HP Envy flip laptop since 2016 (16GB memory) and have always had 0 issues.
I do think it's insane how much memory adobe programs use though! Just AI was pulling 1,200 MB with a blank document

Hello @Aaron35864891pk68,
We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to update the firmware and reinstalling the drivers of your Huion tablet drivers (https://adobe.ly/3T6xaOS) to check if it helps? Also, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Anubhav
