AI problem: Files open for a moment, then go blank!

Hello yall! I've been running to an Illustrator issue, where when I try to open a file it flashes for a moment, and then I cannot see anything... the only fix thus far is to hold ctrl+shift when opeing AI then I am able to see any files. Also, I cannot drag AI files into the main home window to open them - I am recieveing an X when I do this! Anyone else run into this issue? TIA

Hello @zach_3444,

Sorry for the delayed response. I hope the problem is resolved by now. If not, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows) and check if it helps.

Also, try performing a clean reinstallation of the GPU(s) drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD) and setting the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/42gnuGt) and share your observations.

Would you mind sharing more details, like the OS/Illustrator version and a screenshot/screen recording of the problem, so I can better assist you?
Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
