Is there a setting for the number of symbols when using this tool?

When creating a custom symbol and using the tool it acts like a fire hose. Would like to be able to control the number of symbols better.

Double-click on the tool and set the intensity to a lower number:

Not very intutive. Why not place it on the menu bar? This also does not appear to be well documented.

Please pardon the complaints. Just seems you have to grow into something, that should be easy to use. Just tried aligning the objects, even ungrouping them.

Do artist use this tool?

Many tools have double-click options. I agree it's not intuitive, but it is familiar to long-term users.

I haven't found many uses for the tool over the years. It's very situational.
