Align Tool is Wrong

I don't know why align tool is not working as i expected (check in the video).

I tried Object > Path > Clean Up...

After that, it behaved as it should.

I have tried your file and it's not working for me either. I replaced the font as I don't have that installed and it's still nor working. I copy-pasted it into a new file and iot doesn't work. But it does work with my own objects. So it could be something with htose objects.

 

Can you try and create some basic new artwork and try if it works?

I think the problem only happen if i'm try to align this object (added to artboard using place):

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tux_classic_flat_look.svg  and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tux_Mono.svg 

 

When i try align other svg file, the object correctly placed

What version/system are you using?

Did you try to restart your computer? If that does not help, reset preferences?

Your video clearly shows the problem, but I am not able to replicate it.

The artboard in your video looks like a pale blue. Is that a shape that is covering the artboard, and maybe is that shape not the same size as the artboard?
