Aligning Artboard to (0,0) on Ruler + Upper Left Corner of Grid Box (1"x1" Box, in my case)

Question

I use grids and rulers a lot! One of my biggest bugaboos occurss when I have multiple artboards. When you click on the second, third or fourth...artboard (any artboard other than the first one), while the ruler is lined up with the artboard, the grid is not (the corner (e.g., the top left corner) is not lined up with the corner of the grid box at location (0,0) on the ruler. Is there a setting where the default can be that any and all artboards automatically line up not only at the 0,0 point on the ruler BUT that also lines up with the corner of the grid box (and taking that one stop further, I usually have it set in inches where 1" = 8 little squares/boxes. So can I set a default such that the artboard aligns at 0,0 on the ruler as well as the corner of the upper left corner of the 1" box? I hope I explained my issue clearly enough. Thank you so much!

I have been playing a little with your problem about grid position and rearranging multiple artboards.

The default grid is 72 px with 8 subdivisions, which makes each subdivision 9 px wide.

When adding a new artboard, the default offsett is 20px which automatically offsets it 2px from the main gridlines.

There is no setting to change the default distance for new artboards, but that would be a good feature to have.

When rearranging the artboards and changing the distance to let them align to the main gridlines, you would expect that at least the first artboard would not move, but even when you have an artboard the size of multiple grid elements (like W:720px H:720px) and use 72px for spacing, all artboards move when rearranged. If the 0/0 point was on the upper left of the first artboard, it will move to a little more than halfway to the right.

Resetting the 0/0 point on one of the artboards will fix the grid position.

It would be nice if the grid origin would stay with the upper left of the first artboard.
