All PDFs saving as "Adobe Illustrator Document"

No matter which program I use (Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign) if I save my document as a PDF, it saves as an "Adobe Illustrator Document". Therefore whenever I go to view a PDF it opens in Illustrator, even though my default program for viewing PDFs is "preview". Any thoughts?

Hello @Kayla375147642kys,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. From what you've described, it seems Illustrator has been set as the default application for PDF files. To change this, kindly try the suggestions shared in these help articles and let us know if they help:

Hi there,

I believe it's a file association issue, Illustrator is set as default application to open PDF files.
You can change the default application for PDF files, please check the steps here: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/how-to-change-default-applications-mac

Sahil,

Thank you so much! That fixed it. That's so odd, it was showing preview as the default initially, but wasn't set to that whenever I went into it.
