Always getting corrupt files/recovery

I am constantly getting Illustrator's message about recovering as much as possible from corrupted files. This happens ALL THE TIME! Sometimes, I can cancel and try reopening the file and it will open just fine. Other times, I can close Illustrator and/or reboot and the file will open normally. Sometimes, nothing will work and I have to rebuild the file manually cause everything gets put in a clipping path. I have even gone so far as to wipe my hard drive and setup my MacBookPro from scratch, but I'm still getting the errors. It seems to happen the most on my vehicle wrap designs, which usually have A LOT of elements, raster and vector.

As I said, using a MacBookPro running Big Sur and Illustrator is up to date. What is going on?

Sorry to hear. Can you try to install/use an older AI Version and open the same files? (via CC Desktop App, you can install/use multiple versions of an application)

does it happen only with this «old» files or also with freshly created?
