Hi there, I am reaching out to the public with hope that I can find a solution.
Firstly, I'm a graphic designer and I rely on Adobe CC primarly for my workflow / software tools.
I have an old Apple machine, mainly because i don't have thousands of dollars to spend on the latest and greatest. Anyways. I recently realized on my Macbook pro 13" (2011) that the "Animated Zoom" function does not work because apple machines that are 2012 and older only have half of the required VRAM that A-Z needs in order to function. When I go into Adobe Illustrator > Preferences > Performance >> GPU Performance [ ] Animated Zoom, it is greyed out because my computer has 512MB, where as Animated Zoom requires 1GB of VRAM in order to function.
Is there anyway to bypass this? I'm struggling with it because unfortunately it impacts the way I use Ai. Animated Zoom is a great feature that helps best with editing up close.
All help is appreciated! Thank you.
Liv
It's unfortunated, but, I think you might have already now the answer to this question. Since your mac is pre 2012, then the animated zoom will not run. There is not a way to bypass that I know of.
