Another Parametric Question

Hi Adobies.

I have a client wanting to work some parametric designs into some work. I would have thought I can generate in Illustrator or photoshop. I have a sample attached. Could anyone recommend a way of achieving this sort of thing

Your example looks like it may have been done with somewhat more sophisticated methods, but Photoshop's Distort > Spherize filter does something like that.

Try and create a grid

Make a rectangle and create a gradient mesh out of it

Use the Liquify tool (what's the English name again?)

Then apply the mesh as an envelope to the grid

Expand this and create all this shadow stuff.
