Question

Application Frame disappears offscreen, won't stay onscreen after I reset it.

I'm running Illustrator CC 2015 on a 27" iMac under Sierra 10.12.6. It has started the annoying behaviour of opening with the Application Frame fully off-screen. This post (Illustrator 2017 Application Frame opens offscreen on second monitor and i can't reset it to be fully onscreen ) helped me get it back by changing my resolution to reveal the frame and dragging it out to be maximized.

However, after quitting Illustrator it refuses to retain that screen setting. Each time it opens now with the Application Frame off-screen again.

Does anyone know how I can force Illustrator to keep the Application Frame on-screen from now on?

I lost my main InDesign window, the one with all the essentials at top. It's hidden between my 2 monitors (I have a MacBook Pro paired with an LG 4K monitor. Not sure how to get it to appear again. I can see my design file window just fine. It's the main application home base window that is gone. I tried swapping monitor positions in System Preferences to no avail. Rebooted. Relaunched InDesign. Nothing works. Ugh!

Try and reset the workspace.

Try and disconnect the second monitor. Then restart the computer.

Hi dugost,

I would like to know if the steps suggested above worked for you, or the issue still persists.

Kindly update the discussion if you need further assistance with it.

Thanks,

So you already moved the positions of your monitors around? Or exchanged first and second screen?

I was really hoping resetting a workspace would do the trick but no luck there either. I got the Application Frame set up like I wanted it, saved it as a New Workspace then quit. Upon reopening, the frame was still off-screen and choosing my new workspace and resetting it did nothing to fix it. Thanks for the suggestion though.
